Peek Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Peek is a local macOS app by Paran that helps you find and switch between running apps. We do not collect, store, sell, or upload your personal information through Peek.

2. Local Information

Peek processes running app names, bundle identifiers, app icons, window counts, search text, favorites, hidden apps, recent apps, app order, language settings, and hotkey settings on your device. This information is used to provide launcher features and is not sent to our servers.

3. Window Titles and Accessibility Permission

Choosing a specific window by project or document name works only if you grant macOS Accessibility permission. When enabled, Peek may read window titles, document names, and window state locally so it can display and focus windows. This information is not uploaded to us.

4. Storage and Deletion

Favorites, hidden apps, recent apps, app order, language, and hotkey settings are stored in macOS UserDefaults. You can delete this information by changing app settings, deleting app data, removing the app, or resetting related macOS data.

5. Payments and Licenses

Direct Peek Pro purchases are processed by Gumroad. Gumroad may provide Paran with limited purchase information needed for licensing and support, such as your receipt email, product, purchase status, and license key status. Paran does not receive your full card number or payment credentials. Peek may contact our license service to verify a license key and prevent obvious license abuse. We use this only to unlock Peek Pro and provide support.

6. Platform Information

If Peek is distributed through the Mac App Store in the future, App Store download statistics and crash reports may be handled by Apple according to platform policies. The direct distribution build is sold through Gumroad, not through Apple. Peek does not include personal advertising tracking.
